Structured Training for African Researchers (STARS) workshop

This two-day workshop, funded by Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH, is being organised by the ACU and hosted by the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

Structured, institutional support for early career academics is often lacking within universities, so it is incumbent upon senior academics to take an active role in supporting their colleagues along this path. To this end, the ACU, in collaboration with experienced academics in African universities, has developed STARS – a web-based training programme in research skills for early career academics.

We are inviting senior academics, research managers, directors of graduate schools, and anyone with a responsibility for academic staff development, to register for this event. The aim of the workshop will be for academics to develop strategies and tools to facilitate mainstreaming early career support within institutions. Delegates will come out of the workshop feeling equipped and able to set up and run the STARS programme within their institutions, either in face-to-face or distance mode.
