As part of the ACU’s commitment and track record in promoting international student mobility, academic development and cross-cultural learning, we are launching our new Global Grant scheme on 14 July 2026. The scheme builds on ACU’s mission to support academic development, international experience, and knowledge exchange for students across its membership.
Exclusively for undergraduate students at ACU member universities across the Commonwealth, Global Grants will provide funding for students to attend short-term international academic programmes (‘summer’ or ‘winter’ schools), hosted by ACU member institutions.
There are 10 grants available of up to GBP 5,000 each. Funded by a kind legacy from the HW Paxton Trust, five of the grants will be allocated to UK students at ACU member universities. The remaining five grants will be allocated to students across the rest of the Commonwealth.
Professor Colin Riordan, ACU Secretary General and Chief Executive, said:
‘Taking part in an international programme is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to learn new skills, increase their intercultural understanding, and build diverse new networks. Through the new Global Grants, the ACU is proud to support students and global programmes at our member universities across the Commonwealth’
To apply for the grants, students at ACU member universities should identify a programme related to their studies, hosted by an ACU member university, and secure the approval of their university and the programme host for their participation.
