Godfred Amoah

Godfred Amoah

Human Resource Officer at the University of Ghana

Godfred applied for an HR in HE Community Challenge Grant to build the capacity of the university’s HR Officers in contemporary performance management systems (PMS) and HR analytics. The training will use HR analytics to help data-driven decision-making. Managers will be able to use the data to evaluate the performance of employees and their contribution to the institutional strategy.

After the training, HR Officers will have the knowledge to support teams across the university to conduct effective performance management. HR Officers will be able to use HR analytics to generate performance management reports to enable managers to take critical decisions on employee performance. The performance reports will also help to speed up the process of nominating staff for annual recognition awards.

The main output of the project will be a report on the training programme and performance management manual. This will be used by staff conducting or receiving appraisals to ensure an effective performance management system. The report will be made available to the ACU HR in HE Community so that members can look at UG’s performance management system, as well as seeing the measures taken to improve its effectiveness.
