Undergraduate elective placements are a chance for medical students to see how some of their learning is applied in real situations. By choosing a placement in a low or middle income country, students can develop new skills, increase their awareness of social and cultural issues, and experience different healthcare settings.

The Edward Boyle Medical Elective Bursaries offer financial support to medical students at UK universities who wish to spend their elective period in a low or middle income country of the Commonwealth.

Applications are currently closed and will re-open in September 2020.
