Campus visits

Monday 24 September 2018 – afternoon programme from 14.00-17.00

Campus visits are part of the conference programme, and you must select one of the three options below when you complete registration.

1. University of Waterloo

In the heart of the Waterloo region, at the forefront of innovation, the University of Waterloo is home to world-changing research and inspired teaching. At the hub of a growing network of global partnerships, Waterloo shapes the future by building bridges with industry and between disciplines, institutions and communities. Join a student ambassador in learning more about this exciting university.

2. Velocity Program

Velocity is a leading entrepreneurship program at the University of Waterloo and the most productive startup incubator in Canada. From idea to product development to commercialization, Velocity provides the knowledge, tools, space and network that startups and entrepreneurs need for success. The Velocity program includes a student dorm, workspaces in the Waterloo region, events, mentor programs and much more.

3. Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC)

Computers keep getting smaller and more powerful. The microprocessors we have today are, unbelievably, faster and more useful than the monolithic computing machines of a half-century ago. By fitting more and more transistors onto every microchip, engineers have continually halved the size and doubled the power of computers. Such quantum effects can be seen as hurdles to computing — or as tremendous opportunities. The IQC was created to realise the incredible potential of quantum information and turn it into revolutionary technologies that will benefit society.
