ACU PR, Marketing and Communications Network

Welcome to the ACU's PR, Marketing and Communications Network. The Network is free to join, and is open to communications professionals in all ACU member organisations.

The Network was launched in 2003 and currently has over 400 members across 300 institutions Commonwealth-wide. The Network brings together professionals in the field and provides a practical channel through which members can exchange experiences, share good practice and keep abreast of current thinking.

Members receive a free copy of the Network's print magazine Impact, which is published three times a year. An electronic message service is also operated, through which members can post news, discuss communications issues and ask for advice from colleagues internationally.

The Network also holds international biennial conferences, which have so far taken place in Toronto, Durban and Melbourne.

The ACU PR, Marketing and Communications Awards are a key aspect of the network and have recently been re-launched as an annual competition for members in all Commonwealth countries. The Awards seek to recognise, encourage and celebrate achievements within the profession.

Guided by a Steering Committee which includes representatives from Canada, Tanzania, the UK, Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa, India, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and New Zealand, the Network offers a cross-Commonwealth perspective on the experiences, successes and challenges encountered by its membership.

New! PR Awards 2011 Launched

We are excited to launch the fifth PR, Marketing and Communications Awards. The Awards provide a chance to promote your institution and have your activities assessed and recognised by an international panel of experts for free.  Full information is available in the information sheet (PDF), but do note that this year three of the categories are digital, and these, together with the entry form (available here in .doc (Microsoft Word) format, or .docx format, or PDF format), need to be submitted to us by email to prnetwork@acu.ac.uk.  The deadline for receipt of entries is 31 May 2011.  Good luck!
