Searchable Database on Members

Since the ACU was established, back in 1913, we have collected, and published annually, a phenomenal amount of data about the universities in membership.  Known as the Commonwealth Universities Yearbook, this publication has grown exponentially over the years, along with the growth in the ACU's membership, and has provided general and specific information about each member institution including:

• the senior officers
• senior academic staff by department
• senior administrative staff
• key contact persons in a range of administrative areas
• the qualifications, and awarding institutions, of all senior staff (hugely valuable for alumni searches)
• the subjects of study offered at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

In order to make this wealth of information more readily accessible and searchable, it will henceforth (from late 2009) be published electronically, as an on-line searchable database on which it will be possible to search by name, subject, country, specific university, research field and alumni of a particular university, among other criteria.  In the meantime, the course material currently contained in the Yearbook is available via the Course Finder service.

This service will be free to members and available for a fee to non-members.

The database will be updated frequently (contact: acu@studylink.com) and will also be published annually as a searchable CD-Rom which will be circulated to members with the ACU’s Annual Report.
