Research Africa is a partnership programme designed to strengthen and deepen research capacity in African universities. With initial support from the Department for International Development (DFID) in the UK, the ACU is working together with the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) and ResearchResearch Ltd. in developing this service, providing linkages and helping to share information between African and global research communities.
Membership to Research Africa includes access to the world's premier research funding opportunities database offered by the ResearchResearch publishing group, which specialises in world-wide reporting on science, technology and innovation. The Research Africa service also includes up-to-date research news, interviews, features, and commentary, available online and as a hard-copy monthly newspaper produced in Cape Town. Click here to download a sample archive issue of the hard-copy newspaper.
In 2008, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) agreed to support a number of institutional subscriptions to Research Africa at African universities, enabling even wider access to the service amongst African universities. To learn if your institution is eligible for Research Africa access with SIDA support, please contact us.
