Over the five years of DelPHE's call for applications, the ACU played a brokering and mentoring role, as well as disseminating project outcomes. One of our principal aims has been to support South-South applications to DelPHE, through helping partners to find each other, and to advise on application processes and on draft applications.
Please note that, while there are not new DelPHE calls for applications from 2010, the following information on our partnership brokering activities remains for your interest.
If you are developing a project proposal but you do not yet have partners to join you in a submission, or if you are looking for additional partners to strengthen your project, there are two ways to locate new partners.
First, the ACU can help to broker your partnership team. We invite you to contact us with a summary of your project proposal, the countries you are interested in working in, and some background as to the type of partners you feel could contribute best to the project. The ACU can then contact members of our relevant professional networks on your behalf to locate possible partners for your application. We then match interested potential partners with you, and help to mediate and consolidate your partnership team during the application stage.
To send the ACU your project proposal summary, please complete this brief Concept Note template in MS Word format, and email it to the ACU DelPHE team at delphe@acu.ac.uk
Also, the British Council operates a Partner Finding Database, an online and interactive directory where you can register your contact details and your project type. You can browse the directory for possible partners, and registered staff from other institutions will be able to contact you to enquire about joining in your project application, or to invite you to join in theirs.
DelPHE collaborations are required to involve at least two partners based in at least two countries, with the lead partner based in one of 22 focus countries in Africa and Asia. Other partners may be based in any country in the world.
The ACU encourages south-south bilateral and multi-lateral collaborations, through providing support to project developers over the course of drafting their proposals and in matching partner interests. If you are considering developing a south-south DelPHE application, we will be glad to provide you with direct assistance with the application process.
UK institutions are eligible to participate in DelPHE projects as partners, but are not required. Although DelPHE is principally administered by the British Council, the scheme is designed to encourage a diverse range of partnership types, including bilateral or multilateral south-south partnerships and south-north partnerships not involving UK institutions.
