Vacancies at ACU

The ACU employs around 50 staff in London.

Working for the ACU provides an excellent opportunity for those wishing to work in an organisation which represents an international membership in the arena of higher education or for those with specific interest in scholarship administration or in one of the ACU’s externally funded projects. As a small organisation, only a handful of vacancies arise during any one year.

Programme Manager (International Scholarships)
£34,491-£41,784

The Association of Commonwealth Universities, a registered UK charity, has managed international postgraduate scholarship programmes for almost 60 years. Most of our work is for external sponsors, including the UK Department for International Development, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. In all cases, we are committed to helping sponsors meet the objectives of their investment and to providing an excellent service to award holders themselves.

Now, following confirmation of budgets for the period to 2015 and natural staff progression, we are seeking to expand and re-organise our service. We are therefore seeking applicants at a variety of levels.

Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the needs of international students, an interest in higher education, international relations and/or development issues, and the ability to relate to a range of external stakeholders. Management positions also require significant management experience in a relevant environment, and the ability to think strategically and contribute towards policy formulation.
